1 April 2007

We went to Integrity Pentecostal Church again today. It was really windy out and the dust was flying. The singing was joyful as always. They clap so hard you think their hands would hurt for days. They sing a nice mixture of Ateso and English. They also end with slower, quieter songs which I really like. Dad Shaarda, just so you know your reffing whistle can also be used as an instrument. They have used it almost every Sunday here. One of the Bible School students preached today. After the sermon they had an alter call type prayer time and three women came forward. This was the first time the Pentecostal side of the church was seen. They were really praying over these people and some of them were shaking. Everyone else was singing during this prayer time. They didn't do anything wrong and I truly believe God can work in this way but it is still different to me. Lydia was really asking her why questions. Josh tried to explain things to her.

Tim had a guy come up to him in town yesterday and ask him if he was a Christian. Tim said yes and they guy told him he was a Muslim who wanted to be a Christian. He asked if he could go to church with us so today we picked him up and took him to church. He seemed really nice. His name is Mike. Steven, the orphan boy, also came with us.

After church we went to Mbale. Tim and Angie needed money from the ATM. While we were in Kampala we met Philip, an OPC missionary in Mbale. He was really nice and invited us to come and meet his family anytime. So we called them and went to their house for lunch. Philip and Meridith Proctor have four children 6 to 10 years old. They have been in Mbale for four years now. They were so nice and hospitable. They grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings. We had such a nice time and they are so helpful with all their knowledge. Their kids played with our girls and watched them which was really nice. They go on a ten month home service in a couple months but thankfully they will be back. We had a great day away making new friends.

We made homemade ice cream tonight – yummy! Our freezer works really good and the ice cream turned out great.
