Well & Color!

Oh my busy week!  I thought we were going to loose it.  Everything is happening fast and we are starting on detail work.  I could have used Grandma this week to help with Malai.  I just can't do it all.  I want to and maybe should be at the house but can't all the time and need to be home with Luka and Malai and making our meals.  No ordering $5 pizzas here after a day of work at the house.  It is exciting, makes me nervous (will it turn out the way I hope it will), sometimes I could cry seeing our home take shape - special time, and sometimes I am a stressful, crabby mess - so embarrassing but true.  I have to spend extra time with God giving Him control and finding peace that He is building our home.  We are in Kampala getting our solar system.  Malai came with us and threw up twice in the car - car sick?  It is a long day in the car but we hope to rest and have some fun by the pool this afternoon.  We need it!  Thanks for sharing in this journey with us!

My rock shower is looking beautiful

Malai stands by herself all the time - and this week is taking LOTS of steps.
Next week she will be 11 months and walking!

Luka learned to ride a bike - we only had "girl" colored bikes so Daddy and him spray pained the bike como.

An Inside Look at Our House

We are getting there!  Almost everything has the undercoat of paint on.  This week the floors should be done and we hope to get our well.  PLEASE pray that the well drilling is successful and they hit water!!!  The end of the week Josh, Emalai and I will go to Kampala to get the solar system.  Our teammates dad and brother are coming to hook the system up for us.  Busy week ahead!  Hoping to move in December 7 or 9!  Thanks for keeping up with us and praying with us.
Here we are inside our house!  It is really starting to look like a home!  This is our big room - our kitchen, dinning room and sitting room.

Here is the guestroom - almost ready for Sarah!  The floors are done and drying underneath.  We hope to paint this week.

House Update

Pictures of the progress on the house this week on our blog.  Little by little we are getting there.  Actually, they get a ton done each week but it is now hard to capture on picture.  They tell me they will be done by the end of the month then it is my turn to make it home.  Wow.  I am praying God prepares our family for our move.  We are so excited yet it is still leaving a home we love and change.

Thanks for praying with us,
Mandy

Putting cement ceilings in our house - interesting process

Handing cement up pan by pan

Mixing all the cement by hand - for the whole house!  What a lot of muscle work!

Happy Harvest

Our team and friends enjoyed a "Harvest Party" this week.  People could dress up if they wanted to, we played games, painted pumpkins, and of course ate well - lots of pumpkin goodies!  Here are some fun photos...
Here is our family all dressed up

Lydia was a waitress (which Sarah says she would be good at all the time)
and Grace is Belle (found the dress at the second hand market years ago)

Luka, he is... well he called himself a runner or was it racer?
He couldn't decide what to be - hunter, farmer, David and Goliath with Dad - he was quite concerned about it all week.

Emalai was an elephant for all of two minutes - she hates hats!

I was a football player/fan and Sarah here was our nerd.
Funny thing is she asked to borrow Josh's shirt.

Aunt Suzanne was Sarah Abraham's wife

And the Tiesinga family were the seven dawfs - so cute!

We even made carmel apples - yummy

We had fun playing group games

This is Luka as he was falling in the sac race

Then we had a skit where the people behind were the hands for the person in front.
The kids thought it was SO funny!

And our house - not much to show because the work has moved inside and details are underway.
