24 February 2007

We finally had a better night sleep and this is the first morning I don't feel sick. Thank-you Lord. We also woke-up to a thunderstorm. It was cool and we had a nice rain. It is suppose to be dry season for two more months so I don't know what is going on. Everyone says this is the driest and hottest it will get, but it is not dry! Everything is green and beautiful. They just haven't seen Nigeria. They say Soroti will be hotter than here. It has been about 90degrees very day with a gentle breeze and cools down at night to about 70.

We were going to go swimming today but because of the rain we decided to go tomorrow instead. So we went to town again and got our fans and such. We went downtown today and walked around and ate at a hotel. Kampala is more like a real city with a downtown. There is a craft market but we didn't get time to go.

Not much else to write right now. I continue to notice small differences in Uganda compared to Nigeria. It is just overall better. I don't know if it is because we are with family or it just is a nicer country. I love the beauty, temperature, quietness, better driving, nice guest house (with good water pressure in the shower) , stores, and restaurant, and our nice van. I really like the porch on at the guest house and all the tile floors. I'm getting ideas for my house someday. I hope I like Soroti and our new home just as much. Oh, a big change is that I haven't seen more than a few women with babies with them and only two babies on mother's backs.
